I went to southern Mindanao with Howard Ferris, Terry Goodwin, Paul Hernandez and the EFC worship team. We traveled with General Omar and Commander Spider of the M.N.L.F. (Moro National Liberation Front) along with Paul Abraham and several pastors from the A.R.M.M.(Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao). We were able to preach the Gospel in 11 different locations. We had meetings with Muslim tribal leaders, city officials, college students, and at several large open air events. We estimate around 70% of the people who heard the Gospel received Jesus. Thousands were brought in the Kingdom during these Peace and Healing Festivals. At the end of the meetings, when we prayed for the sick, God showed off in a big way, healing eyes, ears, sickness and all sorts of ailments. God is truly alive in Mindanao.

GPCP6

These are some of the kids of GPCP6 (Gods Precious Children of Purok 6). This group was started by Pastor Tony in Purok 6 as an outreach to the "Rugby Boys", a group of street kids that sniff Rugby glue. Pastor Tony invited them to come to the church on Wednesday night for a snack and a Bible study. The first night 7 came to the Church and it has grown every week. Now over 40 attend regularly and it has turned into a regular youth service. We let them know how much God loves them and how precious they are to Him. We decided to change their name from the "Rugby Boys" to "GPCP6", so they would have a new identity. Every week we continue to speak to them about God's love and every week more kids accept Jesus. It is truly amazing to see God's love transforming these kids' lives.

This year we were able to to send almost 100 kids to school by providing them with uniforms, backpacks, shoes and school supplies. Thanks to all who helped with this endeavor.

In June the youth from Faith Center Church came for their annual mission trip. We held 3 healing festivals in the Northern provinces of Luzon, a dance competition, a band competition and another festival in our local area. David Carroll came to visit

David came to visit in March. He was on a business trip to several places in Asia and was able to arrange to come and visit us for a week. We had great time showing him around and doing ministry with him. He filled in on the bass on Sunday morning and spoke at one of our local outreach Bible studies.

Praying for healing

The last weekend in February we visited in three different provinces. The first one was Pangasinan where Ptr. Paul and I led a pastor's mentoring session. There were around 20 pastors and their spouses from around their province in attendance. We then traveled on to Nueva Ecija and spent the evening with Ptr. Bong and his wife, Pilar. The next morning, I preached in Ptr. Bong's church. After the message about God's grace, 12 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and many people were healed. Praise be to God! In the afternoon Ptr. Paul, Ptr. Bong, Ptr. Nestor, Ptr. Jayson and I led another pastors/leadership mentoring time. There were around 75 people in attendance. Again, they came from all over the province. Monday morning we traveled to Tarlac and spent the day with Ptr. Zaldy and his outreach pastors where again we had a mentoring time. In between travel and mentoring, Anna-Lisa, Jayson and I fit in a dental cleaning time, which was long overdue. Ptr. Zaldy's wife is a dentist and did a great job of cleaning our teeth. While I was with the pastors, Anna-Lisa and Jayson had a chance to visit with the pastor's families. Jayson had a great time playing basketball and riding a bike with a sidecar attached. We even experienced a flat tire on the way home that added to the exciting weekend.

Back Home in the Philippines

A few days after arriving, we drove with Ptr. Paul and the youth leaders to Baguio City. This was taken at Mines View. The weather reminded us of a nice summer day in Washington State. Jayson had fun picking strawberries at a local farm. We had a wonderful time.

We had a 15 hour layover in Seoul. Jay took the first watch. We had a great flight and the layover wasn't bad at all. The airport had a nice resting area.

Faith Center Youth in the Philippines

The youth from Faith Center Church came to stay with us for 2 weeks. Our goal was to keep them busy. First we traveled about 5 hrs north to the province of Nueva Ecija, where we did 2 music and healing festivals. We did one in the town of Quezon and one in the town of Santo Domingo. Then we brought them back here to Cavite where they used their gifts at a multi-church youth conference. About 20 local F.R.E.E. Mission churches together brought over 700 of their youth. We had another music and healing festival in a new upstart church in Kubuhan. We then took them to the beach for a couple of days of R&R. We did one more music and healing festival in Purok Sais to end their trip. It was a very busy 2 weeks to say the least. The team did a great job of sharing and showing the love of Jesus where ever they went. There were hundreds of people born again at the festivals and many lives changed through the healing power of God. The impact that they had here was great. We are still hearing testimonies of their love and generosity. From all of us here, we love you and thank you very much. Maraming, maraming salamat po!

Music and Healing Festival in Quezon

The people came by truckloads to the evening event in Quezon, Nueva Ecija.

The venue was an outdoor restaurant. They were expecting 200 people and were pleasantly surprised when 300 showed up.

Everyone loved the music

About 150 people came up to receive Jesus. After the healing prayer a lot of of people testified of how God had healed them.

Faith Center Youth in Santo Domingo

There was close to 1,000 people at the "Music and Healing" festival in Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija. People came from miles around.

The Elevate Generation worship team set the atmosphere for the evening with exciting praise music.

Lots of people accepted Jesus after the Gospel message was shared.

People also came up to receive healing. This man suffered from the aftermath of a stroke and could not walk without a cane. Our friend Luke felt moved to pray for him and walked the gentleman around the court until he could walk on his own. The whole crowd was focused on him until he received his healing and then erupted with a loud cheer.

The day started off with the team going door-to-door inviting people to the afternoon Children's program and to the evening "Music and Healing" program. In this picture the team is being introduced to the children. Pastor Bong's wife, Cielito planned a wonderful program filled with traditional Filipino dances, games, and the Gospel message presented by our son, Jayson and Pastor Seth's daughter, Zoe.

Traditional Dances and Games

The church members in Kubuhan performed some traditional Filipino dances for us.The object of this one was not to get your feet pinched between the bamboo poles.They invited the American guests to try it, which gave everyone a good laugh. It was a lot harder than it looked.

The day started off wet and rainy but cleared up in the afternoon. By the time the festival started, all that was left was mud. If we had known ahead of time, we would have all bought rubber boots.

There were around 300 people present that night. Several people came up to receive Jesus. When we were done praying, people came up to have hands laid on them for healing. It was amazing watching God's healing power set people free. Pastor Bong has a church of around 50 people. The majority of them are women. The biggest miracle for him happened within the next few days as the men of the community started receiving Christ and coming to church.

Faith Center Youth in Purok Sais

We started off the day visiting door to door and invited the children to come to the church for a children's program in the afternoon. We also invited everyone to the "Music and Healing Festival" being held that evening.

The kids had a great time playing games, singing songs and getting their faces painted. Jayson and Zoe gave the Gospel message through an interpreter and they all prayed a salvation prayer together.

That night, even though it rained, we had about 200 people listening to the program. Some of them were standing on the other side of the fence or were listening from their homes. A lot of people came up to receive Jesus after the gospel was preached. Unfortunately, the night was cut short because of rain. Later that week, Pastor Tony told us about some testimonies of miracles that took place that night. One of the coolest things that happened was that several members of the local gang were present and they stayed for the whole time. Anna-Lisa, along with our friend Pressy, was able to personally lead one of them to the Lord at the end of the evening.

Amazing Day

I had an amazing day today. It started off with a text that one of my little friends in Purok Sais was still sick. So I went and got Pastor Tony and we went to where he was staying. When we got there Kenzu got up on my lap and I could feal that he had a fever. As we prayed for him the Holy Spirit put an urgency in me to pray for somthing deeper than just a fever. When we were finished I knew we had prayed him through somthing a lot more serious. Kenzu is one of the kids in our school that is close to my heart. His father died just before he was born so I try to pay special attention to him when I am there.
As we were leaving a lady across the way that had heard us praying asked if we would come pray for her. So we went into her little one room house to find out what was wrong. She had just been sent home from working overseas because they found out she has cervical cancer. I spent some time talking to her about the goodness of God and and about the people we had prayed for that were healed from cancer and other diseases. Then I made sure she knew that God was not only able, but willing to heal her. We laid hands on her, prayed and spoke life into her body.When we were done Pastor Tony explained the Gospel to her and led her in a prayer to accept Jesus as her Savior. I still felt like she was missing something so I spent some time talking to her about how much God loves her. How she is His daughter and He wants to hold her in His arms and take care of her. Well by the time we got done both her and her sister who had come in were both in tears. I believe she is completely healed. She is very excited to come to church on Sunday. I have been praying for divine appointments and I believe this was one of them. God is so good!

Pagadian Healing Festival

Our last 3 days in Mindanao we spent in Pagadian City doing large Healing Festivals every night. They got bigger every night as word of the miracles got out.

We estimate that over 1500 people came forward to receive Jesus during the 3 nights.

Hundreds of people received healing for there bodies.

Several people came up on the stage to testify of healing. There were tumors that disappeared, paralysis gone, people that didn't need glasses anymore and lots of aches and pains gone. It was also fun to here some of the testimonies from people that were healed last year but didn't know until it was confirmed by a doctor.

We were able to visit with the mayor who was amazed that it had not rained since the team arrived. He looked at his calender and said, "It has rained every day for the last month. Then you come here, and it stops for 3 days." Leslie said, "that's because we prayed that it would not rain and disrupt the festival. But, tomorrow you're on your own." We could see the clouds and lightening storms all around us during the 3 days, but it never rained on us. The festivals were held in an open field, so not having rain was important. At 2am the next morning the rain, thunder and lightning cane back with a vengeance. That was quite a testimony to the mayor.

Davao Pastors Conference

A group of us spent a week in Mindinao. We started off with a 3 day pastor's conference in Davao for the pastors and leaders who came from the areas where we did healing festivals last year. The organizers decided it wouldn't be a good idea to go back into those places because of the war going on there and the recent kidnappings. So we brought the pastors to us. There were over 300 in attendance. We had a great time teaching and training. Pastor Paul taught on the love of the Father, Pastor Jun taught on God's grace, Howard taught them how to preach the Gospel with signs and miracles following and I finished up with a teaching on the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

On the second night, Howard and Leslie demonstrated how to preach the Gospel just like they do in their large healing festivals. The main point of this conference was to train these pastors and leaders to do this so they can go into their communites and reach the lost and see the amazing power of God heal the sick.

After the preaching of the Gospel, God always confirms his Word with signs and wonders. Several people received instant healing and more were healed later that night and testified about it the next day.

The last night, I spoke on the in-filling of the Holy Spirit to a pretty conservative crowd. About 60 of them came down to the front to receive. As we layed our hands on them, some of them hit the floor and some of them started speaking in tongues. It was an amazing time watching the Holy Spirit move and set people free. There was a lot of dancing after that. What a fun time.

Howard and Leslie came to visit for a couple of weeks. We love it when they visit. They are such a blessing to everyone here. They arrived on a Thursday night. We let them have a day to acclimatize and then started the schedule on Saturday. Howard spoke to our men's group and Leslie spoke to our women leaders. Sunday morning Howard preached at our church then prayed for the sick. It was an amazing service. That evening Leslie spoke at our 1st annual Ladies Tea. She had a perfect word for the ladies. All-in-all a great way to start their visit here.

Education for the street kids

Ptr. Tony and Ptr. Jay have been trying to figure out a way to get a group of kids from Purok Sais off of drugs and alcohol. They're called the "rugby boys" because they sniff Rugby glue. Ptr. Tony was at his local water district office and found out there was a program being run by the water district along with a well-known university in the Philippines. It's purpose is to rehabilitate and educate street kids or kids from very poor circumstances. Ptr. Tony and Ptr. Jay were able to gather 16 kids from Purok Sais to be a part of the program. They go through drug rehab during the day and school at night. A majority of these kids have only a third grade education. The hope of the people running the program is that the kids will end up with the equivalent of a G.E.D. and then be tested to enter the university. We were able to purchase all of the notebooks and pencils for them. Ptr. Tony and Ptr. Jay periodically visit to encourage the boys.

Our New Car

A big THANK YOU to those of you who donated money for us to get a car. We are so excited!

For the last several months we have been praying and believing God for a vehicle. Last month, Ptr. Glen called us up unexpectedly to tell us that he had talked to some business people and had raised enough money for us to buy a vehicle. He also opened it up for our church congregation to participate in this gift. We are so thankful for our God who is so faithful to us. We are also very grateful to the people who were used of God and who gave towards this. Our God supplies all of our needs according to His riches in Glory through Christ Jesus. We used the money to buy a 1990 Mitsubishi Pajero (in the States, it's called a Montero). It is the best vehicle that Jay found for the price range that we were looking for. It has low miles, new tires, tight suspension (important for the roads here), 2.5 L. turbo diesel motor, a sun-roof that probably won't be used much, clean interior, seats 7, and the most important feature is the duel A.C. Having our own transportation is really going to expand what we can do here. Once again, thank you to all who participated. And mostly we give thanks to the One who loves us unconditionally and who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

My Girls

I (Anna-Lisa) call them "my girls". These are the girls that attend my "small group". Usually, we have a book study every week. Every six weeks or so, we have a fun day. This time I had them all over for a popular Philippine treat called halo-halo. It's made from crushed ice with different add-ins, including but not limited to banana, strips of fresh coconut, fruity things (don't know what to call them or how to describe), rice crispies, ube (another item that I don't know how to explain, but it is my favorite ingredient), piece of flan, and evaporated milk. It's served with the add-ins on top and then the person eating it, stirs it up. They tell me that halo-halo means mix-mix. It's one of my favorite things now. We are so thankful to our friends, the Dillman's, who gave Jayson a snowcone maker for Christmas just so we could make this delicious treat. The ice was perfectly shaved. The girls also enjoyed playing on our Wii. Another item that we are thankful for getting at Christmas. We had a lot of fun. I mostly had fun watching the girls enjoy themselves.

Easter 2009

We had an awesome Easter service. Pastor Jay was our main speaker. He shared the Gospel and approximately 50 people came forward at his invitation. Out of those, 36 received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The others made a re-dedication to Jesus. After the service, we had Pastor Paul and his family along with his sister Pressy and her family over for Jay's famous cheeseburgers. Jay makes the best cheeseburgers around and are requested by all who have the pleasure of tasting them. For fun after lunch we had the annual egg hunt. This was Pressy's daughter's first experience. She talked about it for days afterward. It was a very enjoyable day from beginning to end.

Pastor Bong's outreach

We had a great outreach last night at Ptr. Bong's church. People from all over the community came.
The Ladies made sopas (creamy chicken noodle soup) for everyone.

The band and the tambourine dancers were great. The Trinity Dancers
from EFC also performed. They were amazing and drew in a huge crowd.

After the music and dancing, Ptr. Bong showed a Billy Graham film that had been translated into Tagalog. When the film was finished, it was my turn to preach the Gospel. About half-way through, a fight broke out on the hill and distracted everyone. There was a drunk guy that was trying to disrupt the meeting. Some of the locals (not church members) jumped him and started beating on him. At that time no one was paying attention to me so I stopped speaking and with the authority given to me from God through the sacrifice of Jesus, I told the disruptive spirits to leave and called in peace. The fighting stopped and people came back. When the invitation was given to receive Jesus, a lot of people came up, including one of the church members' husband and her son, the local gang leader. The whole family was in tears as Jesus did an amazing work in their hearts. We then had a time of worship and people came up for healing. It's always fun to see God move and heal people. There was a little boy that was burning up with a fever and as I was praying for him I could feel his temperature drop. God is so good! What an amazing night. Ptr. Bong was very excited that his first outreach was so successful.

was bed-ridden and broke but, God healed him and gave him an idea to make lamps out
of waste banana fiber. Today, he has more orders than he can keep up with. Praise God!

Last Friday we were up in Tarlac doing a Pastor's Conference at Ptr. Zaldy's church. About
100 pastors were there from that area. God's amazing grace was the main theme. The point
that God really brought out is that we don't need to keep beating ourselves up with the law,
but God's grace has set us free from sin and condemnation. It was an amazing time!

Pray for Unity

This is a friend or mine and a member of Ptr. Tony's church. There was a situation recently where a nephew of a fellow church member stole out of his store's register. He caught the person in the act and, in defending his store, he attacked the thief with a bolo knife and injured him. When he realized who it was, he had mercy on him. He turned him over to the neighborhood police and told them to go easy on him. Now we have some bad feelings between two family's in the church. Please pray for a spirit of forgiveness and unity as we deal with this situation.

Cock fighting is a local past time. There is gambling involved, of course. While we were talking with these guys, we got chastised by a local woman who told us that as pastors we should not be hanging out with these guys. Hmmm... that sounds familiar. I told her that our purpose here was to share the love of Jesus with the people that needed it the most. I think she was ok with that.

The kids don't have roosters so they catch spiders and fight them. The black spider won.

These are the local gang members that we visit with and minister
to on a weekly basis. They just got a new pool table.

Continuing on with Saturday visitation in Purok Sais with Ptr. Tony.
Stopped and visited with this mother and her child.

This is Alondra and her little brother. She broke her back
when she was 4 years old and didn't receive medical care.
Now her left leg bones have fused together and she's had a
hard time getting around. We lay hands on her and speak
healing and blessings over her every time we see her.
She has been getting progressively better. Her brother helps
her get out and about, which in the past was not possible,
because the pain was too excruciating for her.

This is where Alondra and her family live. The house
has the possibility of falling over at any time. The local church
from Purok Sais is raising money to rebuild a house for the
family. They have so far raised P1,000 (approx. $23). Their
plan is to build the house so that Alondra will have an easier
time getting in and out of it. Let us know if you'd like to help.

Field Trip

We had an opportunity to accompany the Evangelical Christian Academy on their annual field trip. What a day! We left the school at 7:30am and drove to the Lucky Me noodle factory where we watched them make packages of top ramen noodles. We then drove to the Gardenia bread factory. Both factories didn't allow pictures to be taken. After breaking for lunch, we went to the Philippine National Museum of Science. We had fun doing a lot of hands-on stuff. The day continued on at Ocean Park, where we saw a lot of different sea life. That was our favorite place by far. We topped off the day outside of the Mall of Asia where we watched a fireworks display. We made it home just before 9pm. Long day, but a fun one!

We're back!

We are back in The Philippines! We arrived just in time to watch the inauguration of President Obama. Anna-Lisa is actually the only one who stayed up to watch. It was broadcast live and so she didn't go to bed until 2:30am. The next day we went to our church here and visited with a lot of our friends. We got to see Ptr. Paul and Rucelle's newest addition, Josiah. He's so cute! Such a happy baby. On Saturday, we spent awhile in Purok Sais and visited with people there. At church on Sunday we listened to Ptr. Sonny who is our Philippine church's missionary to Thailand. The rest of the time we've spent killing ants and putting our house back in order. We're very thankful that we haven't seen any evidence of cockroaches taking up residence here too. The weather has been beautiful with highs in the mid to high 80's. Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas!

We are in awe at “Christ”mas at the wonder that God would send His only Son, Jesus, as a baby to be the “Christ” that would save the world. And to think that all we have to do is accept this gift which was given freely to us.

We’ve spent the past year in the Philippines sharing with people about the gift of Jesus. We’ve had the opportunity to watch the miraculous power of God work in so many people’s lives. We saw blind eyes see again, deaf ears open to hear, the lame walk, cancer completely gone and many others. Part of the time, we’ve been working with an area where the poverty level is so high that most people here could not fathom it. We’ve started a school there for 30 children where they are receiving an education and are being fed one meal a day. The cost to do this is approximately $20 a month per child. We are looking for businesses or individuals who would be willing to commit to supporting this venture with any amount on a monthly basis. If you know of anyone who you think would like to help us with this, please let us know. We anticipate this school growing by a grade each year. The children that are attending would most likely never get an education otherwise. The results of the school are already being seen in a positive way. The parents of the children are now attending the local church where the school is housed. Also, the community is seeing the good that is happening there because of Ptr. Tony and the church and are also starting to attend. The church has grown from 30 to over 100 since the beginning of the school. Needless to say, this has been a rewarding year for us. We are so thankful to so many of you who support us. Because of your commitment, the Gospel truly is being preached to the Nations. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I know the Filipino people are so thankful to you also.

We’ve also had some exciting times back in the States as we’ve gotten to enjoy our son, Greg’s last season of football with EWU. He has had a stellar year. He broke his school’s career and season records for sacks. He ended the year #1 in the nation for “sacks” and for “tackles for loss” for his division. He’s been named the Defensive MVP for the Big Sky League. He’s also been named to a few All-American lists as well. WOW. And to top it all off…we are very excited to announce that Greg has received the “Buck Buchanan” award. This is a national award given to the defensive player of the year for FCS. We gathered all of our air miles and traveled to Chattanooga, TN to witness the event. We are very proud of our son both in the accomplishments on the field and the way he handles himself off of the field. There were many compliments given to us because of the humble way Greg has handled the accolades he has been given.

Our youngest son, Jayson, is doing very well. We’ve decided to “home school” him now in order to make school successful for him. He was struggling in the Philippine school that he was attending and we want to make sure that education is something that he enjoys. We are also using a language course together so that we can be proficient in the Philippine language. He is really enjoying competing with mom. In the Philippines, Jayson has been taking Karate-do classes. That seems to be the only organized sport that he’s going to be able to do there. He does practice basketball daily. He has made quite a few friends both in our neighborhood and at the church. When asked how he enjoys the Philippines, he gives one thumb up and one thumb down. It is definitely a different world than what we’re used to here. We just focus on the exciting adventure that he has the privilege to be a part of.

FCC Youth Trip

The youth from our home church, Faith Center Church, located in Vancouver, WA joined us here for about two weeks.We traveled around doing Healing Festivals throughout Luzon.Everywhere we went, people were set free and healed.God showed up in amazing ways.We saw heart conditions healed, people coming in with canes and walking out without them, people healed from asthma, numerous aches and pains gone, stomach problems healed.Most importantly, hundreds received Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour. We all had a great time.

We did a Healing Festival up north in Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija. We chose this location because the entire town needed healing. Over the last three months there have been 19 unsolved murders in this town. The little boy I'm holding is the only survivor from his family. We gathered all of the pastors that attended the festival and prayed over the city and broke the spirit of murder in that place. Then we prayed over the police force for wisdom in solving the case. We then prayed and prophesied over this child. It was a powerful time.

This man came to the Healing Festival in San Pedro, Laguna with a cane and could barely walk. When we prayed for healing, he was right up font. When we finished praying he handed his cane to his wife and tried to move his legs but I could see he was still in pain. Little by little he would bend his knees. It looked painful at first but the more he did it, the stronger he became. Eventually, he worked his way over to the stage stairs and one by one he climbed up getting stronger every step. It was truly amazing how this man was determined to get his healing!!! He walked out of there without using his cane!!! Praise God!!! There are lots of pictures in the slide show to the right. I visited this widow, Maria, a few months ago along with her niece, Linda. Linda has been praying for her aunt for many years. I was privileged to share the Gospel with her. After she prayed to make Jesus the Lord of her life, we prayed for healing in her body. She had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I explained to her that God would confirm his Word and that she was healed. The next month we went back to visit her. Her eyes were glowing. She really looked good. Her daughter had been trying to raise funds for her to receive chemo. I told her firmly not to get the chemo until she was checked out by a doctor, because she was healed. About a week and a half ago, Maria ran into Linda and told her that she had been to the hospital to be checked out. Four doctors and a specialist checked her out and were completely baffled because they couldn't find the cancer. They wondered if she had an operation or something because it was gone. Praise Jesus!!! This is an encouragement to you....sharing the Gospel is powerful. God WILL confirm his Word!

Howard's boss sent some money to bless children so we were able to buy school supplies for 100 kids. Before we passed out the supplies, Jayson shared Jesus with them. This picture shows the hands that were raised when Jayson asked who would like to make Jesus the Lord of their life. Almost all of the children raised their hands. Afterward, Jayson helped pass out the supplies.

New Uniforms

After talking to some of the kids from Purok Sais and finding out that they couldn't enroll in school because they didn't have uniforms, Jay and I took them on a shopping trip to Binon. We started off by eating lunch at Jollybee's where they all ordered chicken and rice, of course. They were having so much fun. We then went to the market and found shoes for them. The uniforms were not available for their particular school so we headed back to San Jose to the market near our church. There we found all of the uniforms. This is a picture of the kids we took plus some others who stopped by the church after school today. We've also added a slide show of the event. Thank you to all of you who support us. This is just one way that we're passing on the blessing. We made sure to tell them to give thanks to Jesus for everything. Please pray for these kids. They are really trying to live for God.

We had a youth night at the church on Sunday night over 1000 kids came. Almost half of them raised their hand to receive Christ.

The healing festival in Pagadian city was amazing. Around 1000 people got saved and there were several miracles. At least three people that were blind received their sight, the one you see in the news cast had gone blind from diabetes and he was completely healed. Deaf ears were opened, crippled people were walking around. It was an amazing time.

This soldier's arm was healed so the commander made him get down and do push ups.

We did a healing festival in a village that was flooded out. We are praying for the flood waters to recede.

This woman had a tumor for eight years and it was instantly healed. She was so excited. God is so good!!!

Pajama Party

Eleven of "my girls" from my small group spent the night at our house for a "pajama/pineapple juice" party. When you say p.j.'s here it is short for pineapple juice. Therefore, we put the two terms together and that is what we got. The girls thought the name was perfect. We had a wonderful time. I fixed them a dinner of chicken and rice. Nothing new, but they liked how I fixed it. We also drank the pineapple juice.Then they wanted to take their showers and put their pajamas on. They were giddy with excitement. In my mind I was thinking, 11 girls even at 10 minutes each, was going to take a long while. They didn't take too long. They really enjoyed having a shower with warm water. That is something they're not used to. When they came downstairs we made some banana cookies. They had never baked anything before, so this was quite an experience for them. We ate the cookies while watching a movie. After the movie, I had them share their dreams. I loved hearing what they want to do with their lives. They went upstairs to go to bed at around 1am. But, of course, that isn't when they actually went to sleep. I finally went to sleep at 1:30 and woke up to them chatting (loudly) at 6:30. A nap later on would help revive me. We fed them breakfast and took them all home. It was definitely a fun experience for all of us.

Linda, the lady on the far right, and I visit the widows of our church every Tuesday. Linda picks 4 ladies to visit who live in close proximity to each other. We visit, encourage and pray for them. The 2 ladies pictured with Linda are her sisters. The gal on the far left recently gave her life to Jesus after many years of prayers from her sisters.

This woman and her children lost her husband/father right before Easter. Linda is her sister-in-law. Linda brought me to the house with hopes that they would listen to the Gospel. I shared with them the Gospel and they said "yes" to Jesus! Linda was so excited as we left their home. She will be meeting with them for a Bible study weekly. Once again, there have been many years of prayers leading up to their decision.

Unplugged Worship

We had an acoustic worship service this morning, not because it's a cool thing to do but because there was a "brown out". It turned out to be a sweet time of worship.

Ptr. Sonny, his wife Jing, and their son Isaac are here from Thailand. They are missionaries sent out from the F.R.E.E. Mission. Pastor Paul and I visited them last year. They are doing great things for God among the Muslims in southern Thailand where they live. He preached today about how we are all called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The "Evening Teens"

This is a group of young people from Purok Sais who are called the "Evening Teens". They are a group of kids who have decided to refrain from drugs & alcohol. Ptr. Tony and Ptr. Jay had visited them previously and at that time, they requested having a Bible study. This past week Ptr. Tony invited them to come and learn guitar, key board or the "hands ministry". First they listened to Ptr. Jay give the Gospel message where they all made Jesus, Lord of their lives.

After the alter call, they broke up into different groups depending on their interests.

Jay counted 32 youth but thought there were more that he couldn't see to count. Praise God!

Unwelcome Backyard Visitor

He's in the process of "expiring". Jay did the duty of spraying last night and this morning the results were visible. He's about 1 1/2" long. I've been reading up on the critters. This particular breed generally likes the outside but when doors get open, they get caught in the house. That's not good! So Jay comes to the rescue with the bug spray... and gone are the roaches. I'm getting
quite an education on so many things here.

Amazing Sunday

walking into Purok Sais

Pastor Tony, who pastors the area of Purok Sais, was talking to his congregation on Sunday when a woman came running into the church. This lady who Jay and Tony have invited to church countless times had been listening to her radio when all of a sudden the program changed to Pastor Tony talking about Purok Sais. That's when she left her house running to the church. She
ended up making Jesus, Lord of her life. She brought the radio into the church later and whenever Ptr. Tony talked into the mic, her radio would pick it up. Just an amazing story.

Our Trip to the Embassy

On the way to pick up our passports, the vehicle started acting like it had a flat tire. We were on a very busy freeway. We knew we needed to get off to find a gas station. We saw a familiar exit and took it. As we were coming down the offramp, the vehicle acted like we had a tire blow out. It was a scary situation, with Jay using all of his super-human strength to keep the vehicle going straight.

After stopping the vehicle and noticing that all tires were perfectly fine, we realized that the tortion bar to the rear axle had severed. Wow! God had us covered though. As we were standing there evaluating the situation, the head of security for the university that we were parked in front of, stopped and asked if our vehicle was broken. Jay showed him the situation and asked if he knew of a welder.

We just happened to be parked in front of the maintenance part of the school and they had a welder there. Praise God! This really was an amazing situation. It's hard to put into words just how blessed we were to be stopped where we were and to have the right people at hand to help us.

The welder made the bar extra strong until we can replace it permanently.

After many hours we made it to the U.S. Embassy. This horse drawn carriage was parked across the street. Jayson and I want to ride one. On another trip. Our whole trip took us 7 hours. Traffic is amazing here!

Anna-Lisa's small group prayed for two of the girls to get jobs and within the week both of them had jobs. Praise God!

There is a gentleman in our church that has been battling some kidney problem and is on dialysis. After praying with him and because of his strong faith, he has now gone from having the dialysis twice a week to once a week. Before he wasn't strong enough to walk but just this last Sunday, he came to church and walked to the front. Praise God!

Pastors Conference

The Pastor's Conference was amazing. Almost all of
the F.R.E.E. Mission pastors and their wives were
able to come. Some traveled 36 hours to attend.
During breaks there was a lot of talking between the
pastors about the revelation that they were receiving.
We really enjoyed our time with Pastor Glen,
Pastor Taryn, Pastor Mark and Pastor Jim along with
his wife Dauna and their children Steven and Lauren.

Prison Ministry

Ptr. Tony and I spent the morning at the prison

in the town of GMA. I picked up 10 kilos of rice

and Ptr. Tony brought a bag of noodles and some

tracts. They don't feed the prisoners there, so they

have to rely on people to bring them food. We

went there to visit Ptr. Tony's brother-in-law. He

is awaiting his trial. They allowed us to do a Bible

study there, so I talked to them about renewing their

minds from Romans 12:2. After that, I explained the

Gospel to them. All of them raised their hands to

get born again, so Ptr. Tony led them in a prayer.

Then we prayed for the sick. We are going to try to

go back next week and do another Bible study. I

can't wait to hear the testimonies.

Prayer meeting in Purok Sais

The prayer meeting last night was amazing. There

were about 10 people there and the testimony's were

great. The little girl we prayed for last week with the

cyst on her head is completely healed, praise God!

The doctor said it's a miracle. The place where we

held the meeting was at the lamp makers house.

God is prospering his business greatly. The shops at the

Rosario just ordered 20 lamps. He's very excited.

He was just recently born again. God healed him from

psoriasis and gave him the idea for the lamp making business.

We talked about Proverbs 8:33-35 which says that when

we focus on the things of God our lives ore blessed.

Trip to the Northern Provinces

Truck loads of kids came.

I spent the last few days in the northern provinces of

Nueva Ecija and Tarlac with the group from Korea.

At the children's program on Saturday we were expecting

150 kids, about 300 showed up. The Koreans performed

and gave a gospel message several children were

born again, then they played games and passed out toys.

The kids here really touch your heart, it was great to

see them having so much fun.

Tarlac. The congregation was split with Koreans and

Filipinos so I had 2 translators, that was a lot of

fun. I took a 40min. sermon cut it down to 10 min.

in a newly constructed bamboo, open-air building. It

falls apart when the wind blows. We brought a group

The Koreans performed a karate routine put to music.

There wasn't any electricity so instead of using their

sound track, the ones that were not performing sang

the song for them. After that Ptr. Lee gave a gospel message

and several people got born again. The salvation prayer

took a long time being translated from Korean to English

to Tagolag and repeated back. It was great. When the

service was over they passed out toys to the kids.

I spent Saturday morning with Ptr. Tony in Purok Sais. We prayed for a girl who had a cyst on her head the size of a golf ball. We are expecting great results. I met a new member of Ptr. Tony's church. His name is Joe. He just started a business making lamps out of recycled materials. I liked the way they looked, so I bought one for Anna-Lisa. We prayed for his business to prosper. We then visited and prayed with most of the people that I know there.

Sorry for the late post. Jay has been gone more than he’s been home. He just left for Mindanao so I’m going to update you all as much as I can. Jay has been traveling with Pastor Paul for the past 6 weeks. They were the main speakers at a youth camp in the Northern Provinces where they ministered to a group of youth who have committed to being worship leaders. Our worship team accompanied them there and taught individual workshops. During their stay they endured record temperatures. The day after coming home, my mother and sister arrived from the NW. We had a wonderful week showing them the beauty of the Philippines. We played the tourist, which was fun. The day that they flew out of Manila, Jay and Paul flew to Thailand. One of Paul’s missionaries is in Thailand. Paul had not been there, so it was good for them to see exactly what was happening there. I’ll let Jay elaborate more when he returns. After arriving back in Manila, Paul and him spoke at a Four Square Church youth camp. They were there almost a week. Before they arrived, the leaders of the camp ministered to the local kids and led them all to the Lord. The camp had around 180 kids from all over the area and then approximately 35 that were led to the Lord who would come to the evening sessions. Jay said it was like he remembered youth camp back home except it was much hotter and there were a lot more bugs here! This past week he once again left to go to the Northern Provinces. This time to teach at one of the Free Mission Pastor’s church anniversary. Then, they stayed the week to teach at a Pastor’s Leadership Conference. The conference was held for pastors who wanted to get involved in the G-12 ministry. The concept of G-12 is to have 12 people who are mentored by the church leadership and in turn those 12 people mentor 12 more people and so on and so on. In effect, building relationships with people they already know and then leading them to Christ in time. It is working very well here. We’ve been very impressed how the church is growing through this concept. Jay returned home just in time for us to welcome our friends from back home, Howard and Leslie. They are here to lead a music and healing ‘festival’ in two cities in Mindanao. We are very excited to hear the praise reports from them. God is so Good! Well, that was the whirlwind adventure that Jay’s been on. Jayson and I have been at home. We’re trying to tie up his kindergarten workbooks in time for his grade 1 start date. I’m hoping to give him 2 weeks off before school starts. We enrolled him in the school at our church here. We felt like it was a good way for him to learn about the culture here and to help him learn the language. We took our big break in December and January so it is a little odd that he’s going from one grade to another without much of a break. In a few weeks we will celebrate his 6th birthday. The guest that we are most excited about coming to his birthday party is his big brother Greg. I can’t wait to give him a big hug. When Jay gets back, he should have some time to elaborate on this summary and to post some pictures. God bless you as you are a blessing to others.

Our Little Evangelist

Jay has been hanging out with Pastor Tony in Porak Sais. This is a very poor area with people living in shacks and sleeping on the floor. Pastor Tony has been pouring his heart into these people. Yesterday, Jay was invited to come help with a children’s outreach. Jayson wanted to come also. Jayson had brought some toys from the States and wanted to pass them out to the kids. During the outreach, they played games and for prizes, the toys Jayson brought were used. Jayson got to hand them out which made him happy. The time had come for everyone to leave when Pastor Tony asked Jayson if he would like to share Jesus with the kids. He said, “Yes” and proceeded to share how much Jesus loves them. He also told them that God loves it when we worship him and that we can worship God at home or at church or anywhere. God gets a big smile on His face when we worship Him, Jayson told the kids. Pastor Jay had a great experience visiting a newly planted church near the town of Ternede (tear na day). Ternede is a coastal town located on Manila Bay. He arrived on opening weekend of oyster season, so plenty of oysters were prepared for the guests that day. After eating as many oysters that they could, Pastor Jay and Pastor Moody met with the young adults under the mango tree. Pastor Jay taught them about their potential with God while Pastor Moody translated. The group then traveled from house to house through the rice paddys inviting people to come to church. Most of the people are considered “squaters”, meaning they are basically homeless people living on someone else’s property. They farm as a way to feed their families. The biggest dream that their children have is to be able to go to school. After visiting the families, they worked their way back through the rice fields to the mango tree. Once everyone showed up, the church service began. Pastor Jay taught the people about who they are in Christ Jesus and how to speak to their situation so change can happen in their lives. He shared the Gospel with them and spent time praying for them. They prayed for many situations where the people are being told to leave the land they’re living on. Pastor Moody is believing for a piece of land to build a church on and to house the people. The day was an amazing experience for Pastor Jay. Having God use him in speaking to the people was humbling. It just cemented in his heart that we are where we are supposed to be.
